Married in 2013 to Lynsey we have two beautiful young girls that have me completely wrapped round their little fingers.  I’m very much a hands on Dad first and I manage to squeeze being a full-time wedding photographer around all the school runs, bike rides and camping adventures in between all the weddings and editing.

I’ve always been easy going and very rarely get stressed or panicked.  I thrive working under pressure and much to Lynsey’s frustration at times am generally laid back with pretty much everything.

As a perceptive people person (ENFJ-A for anyone that loves a bit of Myers-Briggs!) I react and respond to situations in front of me with empathy and thoughtfulness towards others.  I instinctively know when to be as quiet as a mouse and disappear into the background but equally enjoy nothing more than sharing a good laugh with great company!

Shooting weddings is highly addictive. So much palpable love, massive amounts of emotional energy with huge waves that build at key points throughout the wedding day.  It is a huge privilege to be part of one of the biggest days that will come in a couples life.

I’ve been a people watcher for as long as I can remember.  Relationships fascinate me and those small intricacies between people that are close whether it’s with parents/ grandparents or siblings are the types of things I endeavour to sniff out and capture.

When I fist started using the tag line ‘create & capture’ I felt it was the easiest way to encapsulate how I interpret my role as a wedding photographer.  That’s expanded upon in the ‘my approach’ section.

Who

I’m James, I’m 38 & smile all of the time.

Married to Lynsey, together we have two beautiful little girls, Mya (8) & Evalie (5).

How

My unconventional path into photography came via a BEng 1st class honours Engineering degree followed by 8 years in Financial Services.

I’ve never had any formal photographic training, I’m completely self taught.

Why

Photographing people is my passion. It’s sounds massively cheesy but for me, the biggest satisfaction I get from this job is giving people a set of images to cherish for the rest of their lives.

Making other people happy, makes me happy.

Where

I’ve grown up and lived on the Norfolk coast most of my life.

I now live in Norwich, predominantly working throughout East Anglia although I regularly travel the wider UK & travel abroad too.
